About this tool
The image format converter turns an image between JPEG, PNG and WebP in a click. Typical uses include shrinking phone photos by converting them to WebP, turning screenshots into JPG for easy sharing, or converting WebP into a more compatible PNG or JPG. Everything runs in your browser using Canvas, so your images never leave your device: no upload, no queue and no signup. Compare size and quality side by side, then download when you are happy.
Features
Fully local conversion
Decoding and re-encoding happen in the browser via Canvas - no network request, works offline.
Three formats, any direction
Convert freely between JPEG, PNG and WebP with no software or plugins to install.
Optional transparency
Convert to PNG or WebP to keep a transparent background; converting to JPEG fills it with white so it never turns black.
Adjustable quality
JPEG and WebP output quality is configurable to balance file size against fidelity.
Before/after comparison
See the original and converted images side by side with the size change, and a warning when it grows.
Clean export
The output has no watermark or extra metadata, and the filename is updated to the target extension.

FAQ
Questions you may have about this tool
Does converting reduce quality?
Converting to JPEG or WebP uses lossy encoding, so lower quality means more visible artefacts. Converting to PNG is lossless but the file is usually larger.
Is transparency preserved?
Converting to PNG or WebP keeps the alpha channel intact. JPEG does not support transparency, so those areas are filled with white.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens locally in the browser via Canvas with no upload request - check the Network panel in dev tools to confirm.
How many images can I convert at once?
One image at a time. For batches, upload them one by one - there is no usage limit.
What file size is supported?
Each image can be up to 50MB. Compress or crop larger files first.
Can I convert GIF or SVG?
Currently only JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported. GIF and SVG are not yet available and will be evaluated based on demand.
Which format should I choose?
Use JPEG or WebP for photos, PNG or WebP when transparency is needed, and WebP for the smallest size (mind older browser support).
Is there a watermark on the output?
No, the output is a clean image with no watermark or extra metadata.
